XC90 2004 T6 diff oil drain problem
Hello Guys
I am a frenchman that drive a XC90 2004 T6 with 290000 kms and still running. Last year my Volvo dealer notice a final drive (differential) leaks and thought there where the oil level plug and a washer failure. I signed a reparation order for replacing. After work, the Volvo mechanic says that oil is leaking at the level of the final drive housing halves and says goodbye Sir. “How much I owe to you?”Nothing… and that’s it ! This morning, as SwedeXC90 recommands, I decide to change the rear diff oil: support the car of stands but I was unable to unscrew the drain/filler plug . I try with torque wrench, hammer, spray WD40 with no success. The plug seems to be seized. I am afraid that by insisting I would break the filler plug or damage the bolt angles . So I need some advice : leave it in place and forget it until the final drive worn out or someone has a miracle procedure to share with me. Thank you for any suggestion ! |
