Default B20e bottom end

Hi all,

I have got a rather lovely b20e sat on my drive. I bought the engine off of Charlie Garratt, a real old school volvo expert, as many will know. He described the engine as 'the best running b20 he'd ever heard'.
I bought it for the head/plenum etc etc...

I've not heard the engine running, but I have no doubt that it will be fine.
What's it worth to you?

Cheers,

Dave

If it's an 8 bolt crank one I would be interested.

Out of interest, aside from the cam, & possibly this 8 bolt issue, what's the difference between a B20E & a regular B20 (e.g. an A)?

The E engine is drilled and tapped for the thermal sender. The vast majority of carb engines are not. Other than that it's identical.

I'll have a look to see if it's 8 or 6 bolt.

EDIT: It's a 6 bolt.

Is this still available? Are the bores any good or do they have a wear ridge?

Hi Tom,

Yep, still here. I've just taken the head off to have a look see..and it is as good as I thought it would be..no bore wear, slight carbon build up above top ring, but only slight..turns over easily and sweetly by hand and all is well. I have a head to go with is needs be also. Can send you pics if needs be.

Cheers,
Dave
