Yeah, it'll be much loved here in Manchester

In fact, (probably) the oldest 460 turbo in the country lives a couple of miles from me.

I got a PM off him earlier, maybe a photoshoot on the cards... Not professional mind, but would still be cool!

Again, thanks Dave.

There's a place for you upstairs!!

Steve

Took a few pics on my phone tonight

Not many 400's around with sills this good ...

Speaker covers are in the door pockets

Full set of speakers from the old 850. I did intend to use a couple of them to replace the door ones as they are shot

A few spare bits in the boot

The discs should clean up ok once the car is back in use. The callipers and handbrake cables were replaced for the last mot

There is a bottle of auto box oil in the drivers seat rear pocket

The nasty scratch on the bonnet. This hasnt got any worse in the past 3 years so is still repairable. The paint for this is in the glove box.

The repaired headlight using the 440 reflector. This could do with replacing with a 460 one if any turn up on ebay.

You need to add the original 227xx of the original speedo to this to get the true mileage

Steve the timing belt could do with being replaced as I think it is the original one and at 56k miles I think the auto box oil will also need changing as well.

Mmm... Dribbling!!

I suppose I can grimace and change the cam belt considering what I'm getting!

Belts are supposed tom be done something like every 5 years regardless of distance, so I'd better do it really!!

Just need hands like a 5 year old, there's not much room down there

I've actually got a belt already, I bought one for the current 460, wrestled and swore the cover off over the course of 2 hours, then found it had a fairly new belt on already, so decided it would be fine!!

I'm actually thinking it would be easier to drop the subframe on the passenger side to create some room... We'll see.

Oooh... Getting excited now!

Steve

Belts on these are fairly easy just make sure the new one has the right amount of teeth as there may be differences between the models. Been a few years since I did one on my old 480 turbo but from memory you take the dizzy cover off and set the engine to TDC then there was a bolt somewhere at the front of the engine you remove and insert a drill bit to lock everything in place. Its then just a case of removing the drivebelt, timing belt cover and I think you had to take the bottom drivebelt pully off to allow the old belt to come be removed. Come to think of it there is a haynes book for this somewhere I will dig it out and stick it in the back of one of the seats.

Lol!

Ooh, the mysterious wonders of what's hidden below the nosecone!!

They must have to work so much harder on a 480 due to the complete lack of airflow!

Hi Steve glad to hear that Gracie made it ok to Manchester and yes I did get a bit emotional seeing her disapearing up the street on the back of a truck !

Looking forward to seeing some pics of her with the other 460 and following her continuing progress on the forum.

Enjoy

All the best

Well, this arrived this afternoon!!

Well, that's the pic Dave sent me when it left, but it looked much the same when it arrived. This leads me to believe there were no major calamities on route!

I'll start a new thread in the showroom, and will maybe move to Project Volvo as the work progresses.

Once again, massive thanks to Dave for such a selfless act of generosity.

Steve

Edit: Dave beat me to it!

And don't worry, anyone who knows me will tell you that I've got an itchy trigger finger, so there will be plenty of pics as I go along!
