Default New V70R owner with questions!

Hi all,

I have just bought a 1999 T V70R AWD Auto and am relatively fresh to these - I decided that my 180k mile 850 2.5 was good but could do with a bit more go!!

I was wondering if I could ask a few questions - The car is just a few thousand miles away from 100k and was wondering if there was anything that I should do to make sure that it will keep going for a long time - it currently has a full Volvo service history although I have my own workshop who is doing the cambelt, tensioner and idler next week. Is it worth keeping the Volvo history do you think?

The previous owner's son works for Volvo over in Sweden and last year he took it over there and they 'tweaked' the car at the factory for him, giving it a Volvo strut brace and apparently 285bhp - is this a common Volvo tweak?

It has a blue engine cover and most of the other engine bays on these seem to have black ones - can anyone confim whether this is normal? Also it has the twin exit exhuasts which were apparently fitted from new, was this an option? (i'm pretty sure that it has the 4 speed auto so it is a phase II)

Sorry for the all the questions from someone so fresh!!

Thanks for any help

Hi On the ph II auto's the camblets need changing at 100k mine is just coming upto that milestone,
If yours is the 4 speed auto it will have the 2.3 litre engine, usually the twin pipes were on the phIII autos with the 5 speed box, but a lot of us have fitted them to our R's and T5's,

Gary.

PS you could always look at your rear discs vented for phIII and solid for phI and phII.
