My dealer is usually good but advised me that the “slip clutch” for the viscous cooling fan was NLA, however, Rufe was able to source me one. Why not try Rufe?

Hush my mouth. How keen are you to stay original re splines? Could you bring yourself to drill and split pin?

Same thing happened to me, I just got some off a scrap car. They aren't particularly weird arms so you might get lucky and find some on another make of car which has similar arms (take old one to compare).

The way it happened was that i tried to use the wipers (when I first bought the car) when the windscreen was iced up. One wiper stripped immediately but on getting some replacements they worked fine as it was only the arm that stripped not the (probably much harder metal) stub you bolt it to.

I have a pair of wiper arms available.

See pics in the last post of my breaking thread.

I have seen it posted, it was re 240s, that Volvo wiper arms have an unusual strength of spring, which work best with Volvo wiper blades. This might apply also to your car?

The springs tend to be stronger and retain their springiness longer, something i referred to in post #6 further up.

Generic/pattern parts use generic springs that aren't always as strong allowing "wiper lift" at speed (anything over about 30-40mph in some cases! ) but even Volvo wiper arm springs go weak with age.
