Default Windscreen wiper alignment

Hi all

Still refurbing the wipers - and the query here is about alignment...

Currently, when at rest, the wipers are not aligned with themselves - the nearside one is a bit low and the outer tip going off the glass and touching the rubber, while the offside one is a bit high.

So - to align them, should I just take the wiper arms off the splines and replace them a few degrees around in a corrected position, or, is it better to do the adjustment with the flexible chords - eg - tightening one, loosening the other etc (given that the wear and movement since new will have been with those flexible chords and the mechanism behind the dash?)

The top-mounted stereo removed gives some access to the nearside spline, but, I don't suppose there's a lot of access to the offside one behind the driver. Is it possible to replace the driver's side wiper spline without removing the dash?

There is a good guide to 240 wipers here which I'll give a link to:
https://cleanflametrap.com/wiper.html

Thanks
John
