Default EGR valve removal XC60

Has anybody found a way to disable the EGR valve on the 2.4 Volvo XC60 without it going into limp mode ?

Why do you want to disable it?

I take it yours is a D5?
I thought EGR issues were a problem in the D4?

Disable the EGR by reprogramming the ECU.
Also with the DPF off.

Unplug it and see if it throws a code after being driven a bit.

If it does then bad luck. If it doesn't then you can just blank & leave unplugged.
