Engine Oil Specification

As the letters of the alphabet that make up the brand name of engine oil are not an additive to aid lubrication, I'm looking to put an alternative 0W-30 oil in the D3 engine on my 20110 XC60.

Can anyone please confirm the Volvo required ACEA rating for the oil in this engine?

Do you not have a handbook/service booklet which states which spec oil to use?
If it is a5/b5 that oil will be good.
Some of the later volvos use VCC RBS0-2AE which is 0w20, if your handbook calls for this then use only this.
