Default Colour coding and reverse sensors

Hi,
Can any one tell me if the reversing sensors are supposed to be colour coded on a new Volvo S80. My whole car is colour coded with the exception of the reverse sensors which look like 4 black buttons on the rear bumper. Bitt naff I think! I notice that BMW and Merc are colour coded.
Cheers,
Ian

The sensors come black and can be painted. I painted mine easily when I fitted them bu leaving in place the masking tape that I punched through for the holes. Now, I suggest just making up a suitable mask and get spraying.

Is it a factory fitted kit or an after market one?
Usually colour coded from factory and the after market ones come in about 6 colours

Hi,
As far as I was aware it was a factory fitted kit as it is an option in the pricing list that you select when ordering a new car. However it was the dealer that fitted the park assist sensors. I always thought that if you ordered an option at the time of purchase it would be done by the factory.
Cheers,
Ian

No, there are a number of extras that are dealer fit.

Just picked up a loan/demo S80 which has colour matched (champagne)reversing sensors.

These are very useful in a long car such as the S80 and I would opt for them in the future.
