My capacitors had some yellowish leak near the insulating rubber. Also check visually the solders across the board for mate surface or even hairless cracks, they were not very well made back in the days

The metal plate will bent indeed because the silicone is also a glue. When putting mine back, I used some outdoor silicone to seal it, easier to remove again
The silver + orange "tubes" are one component. Each has a 1mm pin sticking out the top and bottom for approx. 5mm. These are soldered to contacts which then run into the unit.
I'm saddened that my unit is not the same as yours, as I have seen the part numbers (1137 328 116 and 3- 137 229 010 as on my unit ) on 2nd hand S60 units.
I also thought the same parts were used on XC 70 and poss XC90 engines.

When I get change I'll check the VIDA part numbers across the range as I can't find my supposed 30749759 part number on my fan assembly anywhere.

Car is indeed 2004 vintage.

Cheers

Bob

Turbo petrols have an 8.8 litre cooling system compared to 8 litres for others.
I'm guessing the radiator is larger on yours hence the different fan and associated bits.
