Default Disassembly of front seat S40 2002

I've been struggling with a bad driver seat for 2 years, actually since I acquired my S40 2002 (delivered October 2001) with then only 40k kilometers on the clock. Been to two seat repair shops without a decent result. Today I bought a driver seat in superb condition, but it's a leather one. I have a Europa edition Volvo, so cloth trim with leather accents only. To avoid unnecessary work and airbag compatibility problems I would like to only replace the sitting and attach the back of my current seat to that 'new' sitting. My question is: is it possible to disassemble the front seat and separate the sitting from the back? Anyone experience with that? It seems like the back is attached to the sitting with two large torx bolts on each site. I just want to be sure I got it right and that no springs will pop off unexpectedly. Thanks for your help!

Yes, those to torque bolts on each side and the seat comes apart easily. Just make sure the zip ties holding the wires are removed, so the wires can be removed easliey when you split the seat. And no, nothing will just pop out. Have done this quite a few times, in order to post seats in a more manageable size

Default Of great help

Thanks Gatos. Is of great help. Yep, noticed the ties. Will cut them first and replace when assembling the seat again. Best, Chris.
