Default Volvo VIDA software

Hello
Despite my XC90 having £2000 spent on it a few months ago with a new Steering Rack, pump and loads of other parts she has now decided to give me the dreaded Anti Skid Service message.

Ive got a OBD2 reader that I use for my German cars and plugging it into the Volvo let the two communicate but no faults found. I see you need one of these Volvo VIDA readers and I wondered if the ones you see on Ebay for £60 would allow me to read, clear and isolate a fault.

Buying anything on Ebay is a risk, I know, but they all appear to offer the features I want.

Thanks.

VIDA is the most comprehensive and complete software you can get
Nothing beats it, as it was made by Volvo, for Volvo

First a short clearification:
VIDA = Software (Vehicle Information and Diagnostics for Aftersales)
DICE = Hardware to put in the OBDII (dice because it looks like a dice)

The Dice you get on ebay are more or less the only dice you will get. As it is a device, that is originally built by Volvo for use by their dealers, it is not sold to "normal" people like us. That's where the Chinese come in, they copied the whole device, and that's what you get on ebay. If you look here, there are a few people around, who also sell the dice, but these are the same ones, you get on ebay, despite the fact, that they are tested before sold to you.

To sum up, you can buy the dice on ebay, just look into the seller, if he's reliable. Or if you want to get the extra service, buy from one of the guys here on the forum. They are only slightly more expensive, but the service you get, is way more reliable! You can even get a complete working set with Laptop or Tablet, a dice and all necessary software already installed and working.

The software, you should take is from this thread, as the one send to you with the dice is normally not as new, as this one.

Go get one, if you want to work on your Volvo, you can't do without.
