Wow that is a striking difference to replace the whole internal cartridge for £28. Do you have a link or anything. I assume if you swap the internal cartridge with a new or identical one, it should work? Thanks again for your help |

cd changer
Quote:
Trouble is I now have another problem. When I reconnected my cd changer the volume does not work. The radio scans, picks up stations, the pre-sets are still there, the volume scale increases and decreases, but absolutely no sound evident! The company that tested the changer said they did not dismantle it, merely put some power through it to see if the mechanism would work. that's all. they said what they did would not have caused this problem and thus accept no responsibility for this problem. I have all the relevant displays and given that the display looks normal, I doubt that it is any broken cables. how do I establish if this is inside the unit or in the amp which is in the back of the car? Once I establish the cause and options, this will determine whether it is worth ordering a replacement cartridge ! Any further thoughts on this would be useful. |
