Default Confused, C30 anti skid service message

My C30 cut out entirely today after this message appeared, then restarted, and later on my return journey just juddered and came up with the same message about the anti skid needing a service, although it kept going. Been looking at the threads on internet about this, and as far as can see (although i might have missed something) it could be:

Battery needs replacing
CEM (what is a CEM?) connections which evidently is in the passenger footwell, or so I read. I just see the fuse panel there.
The steering angle sensor (they look expensive), or
It needs its software updating

Worried about it cutting out as I use the M25 a lot, and that would be goodnight Vienna if it happened in the fast lane.

I need help, Where do I start!

Thanks.

Do a search. Most likely your car battery is knackered, next possibility is your alternator. Lastly could be the CEM connectors. Lots and lots of threads on this with diy guides. do a searxh. You need to be cautious, to disconnect car battery for 30 mins before messung with CEM connectors to ensure you don't create problems like air bag errors

I had exactly this, mine was 5v short inside the EGR, the same 5v supplies fuel pressure sensor, hence the engine cuts out. If it is this, just disconnect the egr connect to see if it goes away. There is specific error codes for short circuits stored in the ecm.

Antiskid warning is a red herring, it seems to come on for all sorts of problems including egr

Thanks for the replies, just had the codes read and it says connection problem on the ECU. I assume this is the CEM in the passenger footwell, so I will have a look at the connections there.

Fairly new battery gives good voltage, not looked at the EGR yet. Let’s see if this connection thing works first!
