Hello Alan:~
I use these on my '88 240 (plus '97 V70) for the 240 and being the Red Block then it may fit but I can't be specific.
Maybe the Mann filter site or ebay listing for the same may give you some further details relating to your car.

The filter has the proper internal valve for the cars and I believe Mann supply Volvo etc- either way a descent filter and at a good price.
