It could also be used in others too. If you're looking at the NGK webcat, they also list the BCPR6EiX which if memory serves is the Iridium plugs, the also list an LPG plug which is near identical to the Iridium plugs.

Going off at a slight tangent, the cost of Iridium or LPG plugs Vs the cost of replacing with standard plugs 3 times as often it's cheaper to use standard ones and you have a new set of plugs each time. I think the usual is to replace standard plugs twice as often as LPG plugs if running LPG so works out even cheaper in practice.

That's interesting Mark, where did it come from? If it's NGK it begs the questin why they make two different plugs, the BPR6ES and BCPR6ES for the same thing and claim one is better because it has a copper core.

Obviously there are many other examples of "standard" and "copper-cored" but as we're talking about the BRP6ES, one of the most popular plugs on the planet (or at least was) we may as well keep it to that.

The BCPR6ES isn't the same as the BPR6E. The BPR6ES is the other plug and I believe it just runs hotter or colder than the BPR6E rather than claims about copper core

Unless NGK have changed things, the 6 denotes the heat rating Mark. There used to be an breakdown in their paper catalogues of how the various letter and numbers conspired to create the plug but can't find it on the webcat.

Changed the leads back to Bougicord and I have to say it was smoother with the new skandix leads. Maybe the old bougicords were faulty or its something else but noticeably better with the skandix leads.
Now to clean pcv and gap the plugs.

That's it. The number denotes heat rating. The S means it has a nickel alloy electrode

So BPR6E is the NGK copper cored recommended plug. The BPR6ES is an alternative (but also copper cored) with a nickel non V grooved centre electrode. B230E UP TO 1987 is BP6E

The BCP plug is for the 2.5 and 3.0 Whiteblock. It has no applications in any Redblocks

Bourgicord are good but they don't last forever
