Default Calamity john!

I fear the inter-galactic cruiser has met with a greater force! (pity it had to be a Vectra!)

Shouldn't have bought a car with a plate that spells Vehicle Off Road, it was just waiting to happen....

Seriously though, it doesn't look too badly damaged. Very odd that the bumper came off its mounts. That shouldn't happen surely?

No one `physically` hurt, and airbags not deployed.
It passed the M.o.T. last week and even though it has recently clocked 374,000 I was hoping it would last me another 5yrs!
It doesn`t owe me anything and looks like a relatively straightforward unbolt and bolt up job.
Does anyone have a spare parts catalogue pic so I can make up a list of panels etc?
It will need a new o/s front wing as well as a lot of panelly stuff behind the bumper; lights, bumper etc.

OUCH BABY! Very Ouch!!

How bad is the Vectra?? Any pics of the handywork to that?

There things happen and as long as everyone is okay I wouldn't let it eat away at you. You've just got to accept what's happened, thank your lucky stars it wasn't worse and move on.

Hope you get it sorted, with only 374,000 there is plenty of life in the old girl yet.

That'll buff right out! A morning at the scrappy and an afternoon on the drive and you'll have a perfectly functional (although maybe mismatched in colour!) 940. As others have set, I bet the vectra won't be seeing the road again.

Ins. co. engineer inspected and is fairly confident it is a write off, the main issue are the cells for the crumple zone, they were all crushed.

The other car whacked mine at a 60 degree angle. I was pulling out of the side road, turning left, so for ins. purposes he had right of way. I am utterly convinced he was speeding in a 30mph zone. Police were not involved as there is no evidence of the other driver speeding.

Well, that is certainly dismal; however, I think that the whole insurance write-off calculus favors the disposable society model, vice fixing and maintaining things.

I say, spend half a day at the auto recyclers, find all the parts, bolt her up, and go on your merry intergalactic way.

It's just veneer (sheet metal).

DP!\\

Sorry

On further review, I think that in addition to the recyclers and wrenching work that the I. Cruiser might just require a pint of two of refreshing beverage in order to be set right again.
