960 LSD and multi-link axle

How do I know if I have the LSD for sure and also if it is the multi link axle? I know it's a solid rear axle not irs from looking underneath. Also is there a haynes manual for this?

Yours being the pre 1995 estate will have the live rear axle found in all 700s 1982-1988 and then in all estates and in the 740. You do however, or at least did when it left the factory, have Nivomats. You need to look at the axle to see if it has LSD. There are clues in the FAQ at the top of this forum room on the identification of your axle.

Hello Greg,

I have asked the Haynes people if they have a 960 manual and their reply was that they do not and at present they have no intentions to publish one.

Greg, you need to purchase the Chilton manual number C72302. It can be ordered direct from Haynes using their website and will cost around £22 (£20 for manual £2 for postage/packing). URL for Haynes is http://www.haynes.co.uk Haynes own Chilton which is why you can get it from Haynes.

Thanks for the advise! I have a cardata index so can get all the usual settings but think I'll invest in the manual too.
