2002 v40 1.9 tdi - can anyone help identify this part?
Hi,
I'm new to the forum, hello all. I was hoping someone could help identify the official part name or number of the attached? Temp gauge on car is very erratic, up and down like a yoyo, but car running normal, not over heating and fluids fine. The fan is staying on for a bit after ignition turned off, but I think it's due to this relay or whatever it us being faulty. Had a look around and found wires snapped to whatever the part is on the attached, so wanted to order a new one. Unfortunately, can't fix the part as it has snapped off wiring Iinside thaT I cant get out. Also, will it ruin the car if I drive it while this part isn't attached? Thanks for your time. Richie. |

Its a connector block for the cooling sensor, won't harm the car but may cause running issues however if its been broken for a while the car isn't going to change from the way it runs now.
It looks very like one from a VW however the 1.9TDi is a Renault lump. You should be able to find a suitable replacement from a car in a breakers yard and snip off a "new" plug with enough wiring to repair you loom

Have a look on this site https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co....680/category/7 or https://www.simtekuk.co.uk/index.php...ectors/?k=:8::
You should with a search be able to find a new connector since Volvo don't make them just buy them in. Or any auto electrician will be able to sort it |
