Cool ELM327 on ebay ?

Has anyone tried these units? at the price, seems like a cheap solution but is it only good for viewing live data and is extra software needed to do more useful stuff?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

or from china ,, super cheap price but suspect it might be a plug n pray item !

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I understand the later volvos use a dual CAN bus serial system low/high speed (2 links) for their around vehicle 'communications'

Hi Galoot,

Thats interesting, is it the software that limits what modules your able to tinker with, was the free software supplied with the ELM or from somewhere else ?

Anyone got information on this unit which can be seen at www.eobd2.eu Will it work on a 2000 S80? Is says it will work with 2001 on petrol and 2004 on diesels. Anyone tried it? Will it read volvo specific codes.
