Dual heating controls question
I picked up my new (to me) XC70 yesterday so I've properly joined the club now! Very pleased with the 130 mile drive home.
Just getting my head around the controls and systems. Think I'm 90% there but can anyone tell me if/how you can switch off the dual heating controls in the cabin? Lots of cars have this but always seem to have a button to sync the temperature on both sides to the driver. It's mostly me on my own in the car and it's handy to be able to change the entire cabin heat from my side.

I don’t think you can on these P3 cars, if you can I haven’t worked it out yet and I’ve had mine years. My friend had a V40 and that allowed you to do just that but I just haven’t found a way. The button controls are slightly different in the v40 tho although layout is very similar.

I had that option in my 2009 Mondeo, and it used a "Mono" switch.
To be honest, it's only temperature that has dual controls in the V70, and those controls are so close together that the effort in operating them separately is minimal. The cost of introducing a mono switch just to save having to move one's hand to the other control instead of pressing the mono switch was probably viewed as not worth it by Volvo since it involved additional complexity and cost for minimal benefit. I missed the feature for two seconds when I exchanged my Mondeo for my V70.
