Default Speedo stopped working.

Hi guys. The speedo on my 850R stopped working today after a short trip. I don't know if it's related but a month ago my ABS and traction control dashboard warning lights lit up. I now have a good replacement ABS module which I'll be fitting soon. Are these issues related and if not does anybody have a pointers towards the likely cause of my non working speedo? Thanks

There is a little tiny plastic cog that breaks. Its a cheap fix if you so it yourself. There are to do guides on here and elsewhere. The tricky thing will be getting hold if the new cog. Mine came from Germany.

Hi I had a similar problem on an 850, speedo stoped working as well as abs light on.
Turned out to be worn ignition barrel, just turned key back after starting and speedo, abs started working normally.

As the abs light was on and the speedo gets it's signal from the front wheel abs sensor, through the abs module, it's probably module that causing the non working speedo...if that makes sense.

Evening Gary,If your abs module fails to rectify your problem, or even before you swap them, try moving your ign,key about, Fractionally, in the lock, and you may find you can get things to work and warning light(if any) to go off. If this is the case,I think you will find replacing the back half (electrical) of the ign. switch might well solve your probs.

Regards,Keith.
