They do on a ’97 V70 so would think that yours are the same: ~ a firm shove should move them; you could also try your favourite lubricant to help free them up.

I thought so, I used body weight firm but gentle but crapped it and stopped. I'll use some spray and see how it goes.

My 850 ones felt the same, they hadn't been folded for years and I was also paranoid about breaking them. They will eventually give and just pop inwards, after which they'll behave normally. Very unlikely you'll break them.

A sharp tap with the palm of the hand breaks through the crap that freezes and then allows the mirrors to be folded inward.

My -00 passenger side folds fine but my driver side won't budge.
I have given it plenty of lubrication and as hard a "tap" as i dare to, and leaning on it only pulls the whole assembly away from the door rather than persuading the hinge! Perhaps it has been 'repaired' at some point, ill need to take it off and investigate. |

Take the glass out & do it properly, I have had them so bad when they do budge they go all floppy....sometimes you have to strip the mirror right down!
Don't be tempted just to give them a bang as the metal inside can break & they will sit all skewiff!!!!

Spray grease between the two surfaces and a very gentle series of taps with the palm of the hand, has never failed to budge them in my experience.

Well I've put wd in since I last posted, there's no way they are budging, it started coming away from the door frame. Think I will just need to be content that they won't move.
