Default Odd starting glitch

Hi Guys.
I have just bought a V70 D5 2005 model, and when I have attempted to start it had problems. It started to chug, I didnt wait just started it like a petrol. Do you have to wait for the glow plugs on a diesel now? I thought that was just the earlier models.

Chris.

Yes glow plugs still used, although this time of year when mild will only be on for a couple of seconds more when colder. Switch ign on and wait for warning lamp to go out before starting.

Paul.
