Temp/Clock won't light up anymore
I just finished installing a cd player for my girlfriend in her 95 850, and now the the Temp/Clock won't light up when you put on the lights. They still work just fine, they just won't light up, I checked all the fuses (i didn't think it would be a fuse b/c it still worked) and they were all fine, I check all the wiring in the radio, even detached the dimmer wire, and it still won't work. Is this a common problem? Any suggestions? I just wanted to ask before I took her entire dash apart, which looks to be a pain in the #####, but was hoping someone here might be able to help me out. Thanks for any advice you have to give.

RE: Temp/Clock won't light up anymore
Did you check the bulb(s) ? It could well be coincidence that they failed when you were doing something else. Otherwise you may have dislodged a connection or something, but since the bulb contacts are all on one printed circuit the speedo etc would not light up either.
To remove the instrument housing you have to take off the whole dash top after removing about 8-9 screws, some of which are concealed in the air vents etc. The instrument panel then unclips and you can swap bulbs etc or test further. OR If you have double jointed wrists, small hands and X-Ray eyes, you may be able to reach up from below and get the bulbs out/in. Good Luck Jim |

if its got a pax airbag, and you are going to remove the dash rememebr to unplug it with the ignition off and reconnect before turning on the ignition on again otherwise its a trip to the dealer to get the light reset.
