Engine starts misfiring 30 sec after cold start
Hello.
I recently bought an S60 185hp that starts and runs great when cold (0 celsius) for the first 30 or so seconds but then begins to vibrate/misfire until it warms up. Blue smoke is also present. The car has been to a diagnostic and there were no fault codes found, fuel pressure is also good according to the mechanic. He thinks that the valve lifters could be worn out and some cylinder does not get enough air. But why would it work fine in the beginning. Shouldn't it be just the opposite? Could it be a faulty sensor? What could it be that doesn't work for first 30 seconds and then begins to work (not right apparently)? Fuel consumption and power is fine. I will try to make a video tomorrow. |

Does the engine has something called "glow plug afterglow"? I have read that on some cars the glow plugs keep working until the coolant temperature exceeds 70 degrees celsius?
