Default We have three colour settings on our TFT display

We have three colour settings on our R-design lux TFT display......
  1. Performance is red;
  2. Elegance is blue, and
  3. Eco is aqua-blue / green

There is also a derivative within each of the themes by which we can select between full colour and the alternative of a simpler, less fancy contrast.

My favourite is elegance with performance a close second when we have folk in the car with us. Eco is my least favourite but then I didn't really buy our XC60 to pussyfoot around - I wanted to have some fun and burning some fuel to do so is a price worth paying.

Have to say that in my 5 days of ownership I have only had it on performance. I did briefly try the other options but soon put it back to performance. I like the speed reading in the centre of the dial and feel that it really suits the mood of the car.

The best bit of the car my children love is not the TFT display, the colour or the speed but the fact that you can take the ignition key out whilst you're driving! The insist on me passing the key back to them so they can hold it. Hopefully they will get bored of this soon but will then probably turn their attention to the remote control and re-programme the car as we're driving!! Not sure what's worse.

While you are on the subject of key removal Flux, (and also little "distractions") be aware that if you pull to a stop and forget to move from D to P, the engine WILL NOT stop when you press the Stop button. If you then get out of the car, it is liable to DRIVE ON...the consequences of which are unimaginable!
Easy to say don't do it then, but with distractions it can happen and indeed did happen to me. I think it is an unnecessary safety flaw, but others are not worried. On all other cars I have owned, you could not remove the keys if the engine was still running and of course in the old days switching off was via the ignition key anyway. Just thought I'd pass it on - maybe a contender for Things You (Some!) Didn't Know thread...

Thanks for that insight. The key removal thing does seem extremely odd to me and will advise my children that future requests for removal will be refused due to safety reasons My V70 didn't allow this.

You can stop the engine in D by doing a double tap of the start stop button. I have to admit that on this new XC60 I have pulled the key out a few times and left the engine running - you could not remove the key with the engine running in the old XC60 - seems a rather retrograde and dangerous step to me

...and really quite inexplicable for a marque that prides itself on its safety features...why would they do this??

Yes it can! And its surprisingly cheap too.

Need vida for software, we've done one now, was around £300 off the top of my head.

Also the poll is missing hybrid and the cross country theme...hybrid is the one i use but i agree with many here, it should be more customisable!

9 out of 10 cars I jump into seem to be set for performance, I do wish you could put the big speedo on with the other themes tho, or select which items you wish to display on the left/right hand side.

took me a while to realise they remember the profile per key....

I also think it would be a very good idea to be able to change the TFT to km/h when on the continent. The km small readout in the bottom right is very small. I don't think that volvo will listen.
