Which battery for 2005 2.5T petrol?
Hello again...
Another questions. I checked the battery voltage this afternoon with a reader while car is off/key position II - the voltage was 11.74v. Does this mean the battery is dead? Then I turned on the engine and the voltage reading was 14.68v. Looks like it maybe a colder winter this year and Kwik fit is having 25% off on the batteries. Sounds like a good deal? Is there any reason that I should avoid Kiwk fit? (In the UK) Can you pls tell me min. spec/factory battery I need for my XC90? Thanks. |

Check with your Volvo dealer for a battery price and ask for discount.
You may well find them being able to offer one at a very good price.

Have you checked your Owner's Manual in the glovebox?
The correct battery for your car is shown in the specifications at the end of the manual

thanks all.
I checked the owner manual online and found the spec for the 2.5T petrol. Didnt check it because the manual was in the car and the car was parked else where. Anyway, called my usual/local garage and will bring the car in for a battery change. Was going to go with Kwik Fit, then instantly changed my mind when i spoke to them on the phone this morning.... (i then checked their online review... no wonder they get 1 out of 5 star rating.... lol) |

Kwik Fit should be okay changing a battery... but they will probably tell you to make it work you need nitrogen in your tyres and new brake pads, discs, fluid, aircon recharge, and that your headlight fluid needs topping up.

And remember to reset the battery low voltage counters, using VIDA
These counters keep track of how often the battery low voltage warnings have been shown and are used as an indication in diagnosing battery performance And write the installation date on the new battery too
