Default Which Code Reader?

Hi All

SO I'm having a few issues with my XC 70. I've been running it a year and am now at the point of either fix it or scrap it depending on the cost to fix the three issues it has

1st there is the rear shock that needs replacing and its the Dealer only self levelling type so unless I can find a breaker that's enough to scrap the car in itself.

2nd is a noise/clunk in the front suspension/steering. I've not been able tpo investigate this yet so no idea on the cost

3rd (and the reason for the post) is that the car keeps going into limp mode and my cheap generic OBDII reader can't read the code so I'm after advice on an upgrade of code reader that would be able to read the full Volvo codes (and full codes for other vehicles too).
Could someone recommend something. I'm happy to spend money but not on a generic Volvo reader as Ii doubt I'll ever buy a newer Volvo, I prefer the old ones that don't have limp mode

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi if you are happy to run from a laptop , Volvo vida is the best, you can buy
from the for sale section on this forum, or if you have other cars you can get a Delphi ds150e reader (clone)to run on a laptop will read all Volvo modules,
And most other makes of car, get from ebay,
If you only want a H/H unit no computer needed, get a Icarsoft 902,
