Default 240 Interior Light

Hopefully one of you experts will immediately know the answer.

The interior light on my '91 240SE Estate comes on fine with either of the rear doors opening, but will not switch on by opening either front door.

Both front door switches test fine.

I have heard comments about a delay unit working on this model from the door switches.

The delay unit/relay failing could be the explanation, but has anyone any idea which relay under the 240's dash it is likely to be ?

Thanks in anticipation

Keith

The courtesey light delay unit should keep the interior light on for about 15 seconds after the door is closed.

The delay unit should be found under the dashboard to the left of the steering column. It is about 1.5 inches long and canister shaped. There should be three wires attached to it by single spade connectors. If removing/renewing, remember to note which wire connects to which position.
