Question Passenger side front window removal?

I've managed to break the front grommet that hold the window to the regulator on the passenger front. I have a replacement green bit of plastic and wondered if the window comes easily out of the door? I'm already happy with the removal of the regulator, it just seems unlikely that I can replace the grommet without getting the window out of the door.

Seems like a pretty poor design from Volvo, but what do I know?!

Unhappy Window regulator issues.

My V70 regulator is still causing issues. The damn thing keeps jumping out of its grommet attachments at the base of the window when half way up. Is this a sign that the regulator has had it or have I missed something fundamental in the window rebuild?

It's the passenger front btw.

Hi

I am pretty sure I did one of these last year (1997 V70), and it was easy.

Do you have a part number or a picture of the replacement part that you are using?

Steve

The regulator is the standard V70 mk1 and I'm replacing it with a working scrappers item, hopefully turning up in a day or so. I just can't see it being anything other than the regulator having stripped a gear of something.

It gets half-way up there is a twang and the front attachment lets go. I think it might be bent if the gears aren't damaged; either way it has to go.

Might be some useful info from Robert here. Could be one of the clips that holds the rollers in the track has broken or popped off. Looks like you can power up the motor with the panel off if you are crafty. Then you'd be able to see what is happening, maybe.
