Default AW55/50 issues

I have had this S80 D5 auto for about six months. We towed the caravan for the first time last week and had issues with the box overheating and dropping into limp mode. Now have transmission service required on dash. So after a bit of research I ordered 20L of Mannol JWS 3309 spec atf and went to do a few sump dump and refills to flush out the filter before the doing a gibbons method flush.

2 things stopped me first is the sump plug 19mm as I couldn’t get a socket on due to plastic intercooler pipe and my biggest ring spanner was 17mm. Second it appears one of the cooler lines is leaking.

I have had a look online and can’t find a source for the line just a few USA suppliers but they are all for petrol models and don’t look the same, maybe for a geartonic model.

Anyone braking a car got a good line to sell or can point to a UK supplier? Tried Parts for Volvo, Brookhouse and eBay.

Anyone got an auxiliary oil cooler? What you got and any for sale?

If its the pipe itself and not the seal, then take the pipe off and take it to Pirtek and they'll make you one up better than new for a fraction of the cost 😀

An Auxilliary oil cooler 5 row costs about £30 Mishimoto is the one I installed , highly rated , you will need to plumbing fittings to join up the pipes once cut, I found it dropped the temperature to about 65c , but I should have gone for the 8 -10 row with the heat here .

Yeah, them ties are NO use ! I used Angle , the stuff that is used on suspended ceilings , bolted it at the bottom after making a right angle and fixed at the top near the catch , of course that is replicated for each side, it is also away from the Rads a bit, hope it works out for you .
