Repairing Leather Seat?

My 1/2 leather seat is ripping where they all do on the driver side bolster strip and im not sure how to repair it, its probobly gone too far as most of it is ripped now

i was thinking maybe just sow a patch of leather the entire side of it over ?

what about seeing how much an auto upholsterer will charge to match and stich a new piece in?? You wiil find them advertising in the back of custom and classic car mags........

I live in the sticks, I'll have a search but I think it'd cost more than is worth maybe - deffo worth a shot tho
