2000 c70 t5 coupé 1 hss a similar turning circle as the qe2. 2 wind noise/draft from door glass 3 the fuel economy is that bad most owners are to embarrass to tell you the truth but its not far off 50p a mile round town.

Ian - are the headlight reflectors corroded at all? I've found the P1 70-series headlights (on 3 cars) to be pretty good!

TC - what uprated parts are you looking for - performance stuff? The rear suspension is the only tricky area I can think of, what with the wierd rear suspension arrangement.

As for the C70...I'm guessing it's an auto? They're shocking in town, but I'd go as far as to say amazingly good (for what it is) on the motorway. My housemate's T5 auto does best part of 40mpg on cruise at 70...averaged over couple of hundred miles.

cheers

James

It's the simple things I miss like being able to get a price for an exhaust system or pricing up some uprated shocks etc, everything is special order or not even doable. I sold my R because I fancied something different that would be fun to modify but there's nothing fun about having to pay through the nose because anything you want has to be specialy made.

A performance exhaust? To be honest, I'm so used to having to get that stuff custom made (it's often cheaper anyway) that I don't think too much about that. It's like the T5 exhausts - the catbacks are almost all 2.5"...but I want 3"...so it has to be custom.

Uprated shocks are readily available for IRS 1 (late 760 saloon, -94 760 saloon) and IRS 2 (95+ 960s, all). The front suspension on the mk2 960s is based on that from an 850. I'm not sure exactly how similar the struts are, but I believe very...

cheers

James

2000 V70 P1

Pathetic headlights - I fitted Projectors in the end which has cured this issue.
ETM - Yes this has been changed

Otherwise no big deal with the car - Ecconomy is ok for a large estate with Auto box, typically returning around 36 to 38MPG on motorway trips - Mike

55 plate S60 D5 SE Geartronic

1. I do and I don't like the gearbox. When in D and you just want to ride the torque it changes down. If you change gear manually its the wrong way round. Forward for up and back for down - who signed that off!.

2. Steering pull. Mine fights you all the way tramlining. Plus one wheel gives more brake dust than the other = caliper.

3. Steaming up. I've never had a car that steams up the minute its damp.

Nice car, but wouldn't buy another. Will go back to a Golf when I change.

Steve.

I don't like the fact we just changed the LPG bulb on the dashboard and no sooner was it all back together, the car decided the clock bulb shouldn't work anymore.... I think my car's got a bit of a cheeky side to her

1986 740 estate with B230k engine. Around 170,000 miles

1 the carb!! Pierberg and weber!!

2 The fuel it used. Everytime you went anywhere another 10 quid gone, it was that bad!

3 Interior door trim panels very brittle.

apart from that it was ok!

1989 240GLT estate. 163,000miles

The thing I don't like is the lack of 60/40 folding rear seats. It gets far better mpg than the 740 did and the 240 is auto!!

Tailgate hinge wires. Replaced mine but not that expensive to buy.

Very pleased with my 240!! My best volvo to date

94-945 Wentworth Auto
Newly acquired so nothing serious to dislike about it apart from occasional intermittent lumpy idle when sitting in traffic, hopefully just needs a good service to sort that!

Tailgate has a few dings on it (Previous owner) so on the look out for a clean one in matching colour!

Love the smooth auto box for effortless driving

Love the Tan leather interior

Love that high pressure turbo leaves saxo's etc for dead
