Rear anti-roll bar, C70 rear chassis brace
Hello,
I'm looking for a rear anti-roll bar, please chaps. I have been unable to identify exactly which models these actually came on and it seems quite random, even within trim packages. It looks like an L-shaped bracket that joints the two trailing arms. The long side of the L is a long cylindrical bar and will be the main giveaway. I'm also interested in a C70 rear chassis brace and the hardware for it. To my knowledge these only came on the 'verts, but may well be wrong. I'm based in Chesterfield and I am regularly in Sheffield/Nottingham areas. I have family in Leics and West Wales so those are also plausible for collection. Failing that, I am also amenable to arranging couriers. Thanks, Cookeh

I'm not sure if a C70 will fit, as the rear track on a C70 is 2" wider. Will do some research and get back to you!

Hi CookeH
What car are you trying to find one for? Do you have a part number or picture of the rear chassis brace? As far as I can see a 2001 C70 convertible might have one of these anti-roll bars: Anti-roll bar 9191494 MARKED V Identification plate S70, V70, C70 Anti-roll bar, green 9191459 MARKED M Identification plate S70, V70, C70 Anti-roll bar, blue 9191462 MARKED N Identification plate S70, V70, C70 Anti-roll bar, yellow 9191461 MARKED P Identification plate S70, V70, C70 (I will be breaking that car soon, but it is not near me at the mo, so I can't look to see what it has). HTH Steve

Hi Steve, I've been looking for an arb for so long I'll take any. The differences between the part numbers is due to their thicknesses. I'll try and figure out which corresponds to which!
My research to date suggetss that the var that would have been fitted to 850s and S/V/C70s was 9191461, though I am not sure why the 850s arent listed as compatible with the other part numbers. Volvo dod not change the length of the arb or the position of the mounts at any point during the life of the C70 so I don't see why it wouldn't fit. More research required...! As for the rear chassis brace, I've never seen a picture of it (archived forum posts or photobucket issues), but from my understanding its a long loop that links the subframe to the middle of the body. The good news is it seems C70 arbs wl fit 850s no problems

Part numbers for the two braces I'd be interested in are:
8618756 (superseded by 8614445) and 8614449. More interested in the former than the latter, but will consider both.

These are the two arb's I'd like preferentially - will still consider others though! If the markings are worn, it is 20.8mm or 21.8mm in thickness.

My T5 is lacking one, but that was what my research had suggested.
