That will allow you to calculate the mpg or mpl for the journey..

ANd if you reset your trip computer you can them see how far out it is calculating

HI,

I think this is something I will have a go at when I have a trip to Ireland in the V90.

Boy, those figures will be frightening!!!!

i never run BT low but i always remember watching the "mileage out of remaining fuel" figure on my cheese wedge's trip comp turn to 0 at exactly the same time as the engine spluttered to a halt, it was a bit too accurate lol

mine has also a little left after reaching ----, although im not sure i would advocate running too low as you have clog the filter or injectors with some crud from the bottom of the tank.....
cheers

The filter will catch any crud that is in the fuel, but our petrol tanks are plastic on the ph1 R, so it shouldn't be a problem running low,

It's a bit of an urban myth to be honest, perhaps it used to be true in days of yore and yesteryear, but there is no pile of crap at the bottom of a petrol tank.

Cheeky bugger!!!!
Actually, at this moment, the car is running fine...
Yes, there is higher pressure in the coolant system, and I am loosing some water (about a half pint per tank of fuel), but I have no missing, no excessive steam out the exaust or anything.
The pressue in the cooling system doesn not remain overnight/next day/ 24 hours but eases off as with most cars..
And the drive is as smooth as the proverbial babies bum...
