Default Standard chrome hubcaps for steel wheels

Hi All,

I'm in the process of rejuvenating my grandad's old 240 and looking to replace the 1990 stylie plastic hubcaps with some proper chrome hubcaps as fitted to the earlier 80s models.

Like this, the 2 piece hubcap:

If you have a set of 4 for sale please let me know.

Re that centre cap, from that link: "Note that this center cap does NOT have part numbers listed on the back and that every wheel has a unique center cap that cannot be used on another wheel."

If that is correct, you would need wheels and matching centre caps?

I read it as that "V" centre cap is not compatible with other types of Volvo wheel eg the alloys, but you've got me thinking now.

Will do a test fit of the centre cap from my '85 240 to make sure it fits the later wheel.

Just been out to the Volvo shack and can confirm the chrome hubcap fits the 1990 steel wheel perfectly.

Hi Jon,

That's an excellent number and would leave one spare for each car if you were looking to part with them all. Not that I should need a spare, after a tyre place didn't refit 2 of them properly one year and they flew off on a dual carriageway I always check they are firmly in place after any work.

How much would you be looking for and would you be able to post?

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

they've been in a box in the loft for longer that I can remember. I saw your wanted post and replied. No idea what I would want for them - I guess it needs to be a number I can do something with otherwise they may as well stay there or go on my (still off the road) 245 !

Perhaps pm me with your thoughts.

Jon.
