Default C70 leak

Hey!
So another problem on my 2007 c70!! Discovered my drivers footwell is wet! Thought the matt was just damp from my wet shoes but the carpet below is also a bit wet
Any common places for these to leak? The car was parked on a steep sideways slope drivers side higher up so wondered if that allowed water to get past the door seal?
Cheers
Phill

There are a couple of potentially leaky spots in the roof seals - the joins with the windscreen at the tops of the driver's & passenger's windows, and around the backs of the rear side windows. But I've never seen more than a few drops from any of these, certainly not enough to soak the carpet.

If the experiences of forum contributors with C30, S40 and V50 are anything to go by, the first place I'd look is the sealant along the top of the windscreen. If you can press the windscreen outwards from inside the car, there's your problem.

Next, there's an aircon drainage tube somewhere on the driver's side of the exhaust tunnel under the carpet, which normally allows condensation water to exit under the car. This has been known to block up, causing the condensate to leak into the footwell.

Best of luck

Default C70 roof leak

I've just bought a 2010 C70 with 66k miles when the weather was dry and sunny. Now that it's rained I find water coming in at the top of the A pillar on the passenger side and dripping on to the seat. I collected half a pint last night in a basin. Do they suffer from the same drain tube problem as the V40 I've read about? The dealer is going to take it in to try to fix it, but I'd rather have some prior knowledge . Can anyone help?
Starting to miss my old S60 I had for 11 years!

I think on the C70 the water that collects in the dished bits at the top corners of the A-pillar is supposed to drain away down the channels on the inside of the rubber seals that are attached to them. I don't know what happens at the bottom though, which is where the S40/V50 sunroof drainage tubes had their problem. You can't remove the seals because they're glued in place, but you might have a gentle poke with something long, thin and flexible - I used to have a brazing rod some years back which was perfect for this sort of thing. Or you might get somewhere with a plughole unblocker if it's not too wide.

Thanks for that info. I've has a closer look and have found a tiny hole that may be the one you describe.
