That’s 100 yards from Taggarts in Glasgow, going that way though, you would be leaving and heading towards Porsche and Audi. Maybe cars leaving their compound to go elsewhere in the group. Or the delivery driver missed the turning...

You have to feel for the transporter driver,he has certainly lost his 'brownie points.

Do you? They’ll have written checklists, procedures etc to follow re securing and positioning loads in transport position, plus (assuming its a major national haulage firm) route logistics software with predetermined routes, audible height alarms etc.

Whilst the root cause maybe poor training, language barrier etc, you can never fully risk assess ‘Human factors’ and they have a nasty habit of getting in the way of the best plans! If you take away mitigating factors (inadequate training etc) there’s a line between having an off day at work and being negligent in your duties.

Some bent metal and disappointment for owners who have probably waited 3 months plus, but different circumstances and a major incident like that could easily have resulted in fatalities.

I’m not trying to be ‘all serious’ about this, but just sharing experience from the industrial sectors I work in where an equivalent incident to this would be treated very seriously indeed and it would be a CLS for operators or management!

(CLS = career limiting step!)

It is real, it made the newspapers, the 90 got pushed back when it hit the bridge into the 60 that eventually fell off the back........

Only speculating, but my guess is that the red V60 was behind the XC90 on the upper level of the transporter and when the XC90 hit and got held back by the bridge, the transporter and the V60 kept going meaning that the V60 then hit the back of the Volvo and then fell off onto the road.
