Default Rear delta arm bush

Hi I have a v70 and may need to change this rear bush. Inside my car when driving I hear which sounds like interior noises which now I think it's not related.it sounds like metallic ball earring noises clicking together over slight bumps etc. For information it was worn from last not. So I'm guessing it's time.
So in changing it where can I get the pulling tool from and how much is it.
Regards
Dan

Volvo make a tool part number 9995497

to remove
http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...l-arm/1007249/

the tool is
http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...-axle/1018424/

Use the tool together with heat to heat the arm to melt the hard plastic outer shell of the bushing, then tighten and extract.

When those control bushings are shot, you can see it from the outside, and it can sound like cannonballs in the spare wheel well.

A lighter knocking particularly at low speed could be at the front - anti-roll bar drop links - or a medium knocking might be the engine mount near the crank pulley.

Also you might want to check the mounts at the top of the rear shocks.

Try them by hand from inside the car (I think you have to remove the cargo boards).
Also get someone to watch them while you drive over some potholes.

They are easier and cheaper to fix than the control arm bushings.

Fwiw, I think Clan posted on my rear end weave thread that as these car have passive rear steering, not to buy cheap bushes and go with genuine. I have a set of QDrive ones I bought years ago but never got around to changing so just went to CarParts4Less who have Lemforder units at aproximately £70 each and ordered a couple of them.

Dan

Yours is an R yes ?

If it is/was AWD the trailing arms are different and I am reasonably confident the Volvo tooling may be of no use.

Were some recent posts from PNutt amongst others stating all you need is a club hammer and a propane torch

I had the same problem which oddly has ceased making the noise you describe since I renewed the front bushes and got her properly tracked and balanced. No doubt will return in very early course !

Let us know how you get on buddy

That tool is a complete overkill and a pointless purchase.
You need a blow lamp, lump hammer and a block of wood
Heat them up and as the plastic melts they allmost work themselves free.
Drift the new ones in with a hammer and block of wood.
Pay particular attention that the new bushes are inserted correct side up as they have a different size hole on the end.
