Default Volvo XC70 door lock actuator

Hi. I've got a 2008 XC70 and the passenger front door lock is sticking regardless of the keyfob unlock or the driver door unlock button...so I'm having to manually reach over and open it. I've watched the Youtube video that was suggested and he showed the missing spring which is probably what's missing on mine but the XC70 he's working on is an older model to my car.
He continues to dismantle the door lock right down to a motor and mentions that it's made in China.
I have a wonderful local garage here in Solihull who will do the work (I'm assuming it'll take him a couple of hours) but I need to buy the relevant parts first.
Should I buy a replacement return spring which I've found the number for on the Volvo parts site and another engine unit (found that part number too) but really, I'm inexperienced at this stuff and might be getting it all wrong.
What I spend on parts if I just buy an entire new lock - will eventually save on the garage's labour rate faffing around with replacing bits and pieces or what's presently there - so it's going to cost me - whatever! A damage control situation.
Any suggestions...?

You may find, as I did 🙄, that the spring is laying at the bottom of the door and can be reused.
I bought new motors but discovered after placing my order that they can be cleaned up and reinstalled.
😉😉

No, he is working on a P3 2008 onward model.if you look at some of his other videos he states as such.

In reality the video is aimed at a helping you to do it yourself.

Show the video to your garage. Do they agree with the diagnosis and are they confident their labour to repair can remain at less than labour + straight swap for a new lock.

Does anybody know spring part nr? Its not locking the front driver side door (locks only half way but the door stays open). New locking system is 100e (31253657) or 94e (31416681). The difference beteeen them is with secured locking position or without. Not sure which one i need (dont have keyless)

Does anyone have a link for the spring aswell? If the old one is popped out and damaged or missing it would be good to install the new one.

Anyone can confirm if this spring

http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...rlock/1051564/

would fit on our door locks? Looks very similar. I couldn't find a proper one, nor in ViDA or at my local garaje. I've read somewhere that Focus II and Mondeo IV uses the same door lock mecanism. Confirmation?

Well the xc70 Phase 3 from 2007/8 is a Mondeo mk4 in drag so probably the same door locks.
The suspension units and fuse boxes are marked Fo Mo Co so defiantly ford Mondeo.
Engine and transmission are about the only volvo bits.

Look on line at complete door locks. You can strip and clean the motors but to be honest the cost of replacement locks is low enough and it's far easier to just change them especially if they are the Ford designed units .

The seller cannot sell to the UK, alternative seller, or how to get around?
