Drained Battery/Central Locking Control S70
Hi All,
Not sure this has been dealt with in a previous thread, please re-direct me if possible. The battery on my 1997 S70 has been drained (flat) a few times over last six months. I bought an multimeter and monitored battery drain while removing fuses. It turned out that the only drain noticeable came from fuse 6 (central locking). I then started to identify the item that could cause the drain and this seems to be the central locking control unit under the steering wheel. When disconnected the drain stops. Ordered a used replacement control unit, conneted it, but the drain continues. Not sure what to do next, any advice is welcome. Might be worth noting that the interior light does not come on when one of the rear passenger doors is open. Not sure this is relevant in this context, but thought it might be related. I disconnected the lock of the respective door, but this didn't make a difference with regard to the battery drain. Looking forward to your replies.

Maybe a bit of a longshot, but have you checked that the door marker lights actually do go out when the doors are closed?

Thanks for the replies and advice. Will check the courtesy lights and post the result once I had the chance to get this done.
Best wishes
