Default 1965 volvo 121 2-door and 2-tone For Sale

1965 VOLVO 121
2-DOOR AND 2-TONE
Reg - EDE 73C
price is £6,500 lots of work carried out over the restoration

One of a number of cars rescued from Putney following the death of Chris Hart in 2011, this white 2-door saloon had already had its engine removed, rebuilt and then re-fitted back in the engine bay, also the interior had been taken out by Chris before the body was re-sprayed and left unfinished; it has been thoroughly checked and re-sprayed (again) in white but with a black roof, making it even appealing!

The missing interior has also been updated with the fitting of a gray C70 faux leather/suede seat combination, which includes electric seat adjustment and also has integral inertia reel seatbelts fitted. The rear seating area has C70 side panels and new door cards have been specially made and covered to match the rear panels.

Now with its cleaned up B18B engine it sports twin carburettors, has an overdrive unit and drives superbly. MOT’d until June 2015, the car has been in regular use and attended the 2014 Volvo Owners Club National Rally at Hatton Country Park in The Midlands, it was also at the Helmingham Classic Car Show, Helmingham Hall, Suffolk in August.

A very lovely car to drive and to look at, it combines the charm of the Amazon styling with the benefits of a modern interior, ideal for a daily driver – which this car can be, since it also has the ability to cruise on motorways and keep with the traffic flow.

**** New age related number given and new pair of metal black number plates on its way in post to fit to the car *****

Tell me about the edge of the driver's seat : is this worn or just a trick of the light?

its worn but they can be found in any breakers yard from a folvo c70
the hard work has been done but the cost of re-upholstering On top of the Work carried out would push the car price up its fine as is but always a very very easy fix if anyone was after perfection as im sure you would agree
the price has no wiggle room as its cost so much and to complete anyless we may aswell keep the car in the collection as its such a dream to drive with comfort.

The build page is here of the car also for lots more images

kind regards
robert

Very nice numberplate, I wish I needed an Amazon.
Good luck with a good sale.

Default Newbie looking for my first Amazon

Hi Tony,

First enquiry from an (old) newbie looking to take the plunge into owning an Amazon.

I have followed a few threads, and your comments always seem sensible and knowledgeable. From that I would imagine that an Amazon that you have built would be something I could reliably drive everyday. I'm not looking for a truly original 'show' car, and so your interesting interior has appeal. Are you looking to sell the car as is....or would you also consider making a few other mods if I were interested?

I am around tomorrow (Thurs 4th) late afternoon if you would be available to chat. Perhaps you would mail me on mike@htmk.co.uk ?

Kind regards,
Mike
