Default New MOT Question on Rear Parking Sensors

Hi

Does anyone know if the warning message "Park Assist Service Required" will be a fail on the new MOT rules?

Sure I have been quoted £700 by Volvo previously to fix it which is more than the car is now worth.

If it is is there a way to disable the message using the VIDA or whatever its called?

If not I'll start to look into seeing if its one of the sensors.

Thanks

I doubt very much that it would fail purely because parking sensors are a driver 'aid' rather than an essential safety or emissions system.

Agreed with Welton, doubt it can be an issue, but in case of any questions you can always disable them trough waterfall console. I am sure I saw option somewhere but not 100% certain if it will remember setting after car is restarted.

They won't fail on an MOT. I had that error message when my V50 went in at the end of January.

Brilliant, thanks guys.

Found another post about listening for the clicking noise from the sensors. As far as I can hear it just seems to be one of the sensors so have ordered one off ebay for a tenner and will replace and see if the message goes away.

Sounds like if it doesn't then should be ok anyway.
