Default Fuel addatives

Have been using Redex for years but was wondering if anyone has used anything else or done any comparisons. Millers for example. Finally, do any of the so called “power boosters” work?

Agree with BG244. You may get more responses in the correct section though as this is the wanted section
Be wary though as I doubt Volvo recommend any fuel additives. Most manufacturers don't but I have not had problems personally.
No idea on power additives?

What I find puzzling is why Volvo don't approve the use of fuel additives such as Redex or others. Some Premium fuels are meant to have cleaning agents in them and as a result does Volvo advise not to use such premium fuels? Its not about getting more BHP but more the case of cleaning the file line and injectors in my case. So what I have been doing is twice a year, I've filled up with a tank of Ultimate or similar. I have no idea if it does any good, I guess only time will tell.

Because they can't individually test and approve every additive on the market.

I've read that 2-ethylhexyl nitrate is what the oil companies use in "premium" grade fuel.
