Default Cost of Polestar (and benefits)

Firstly, sorry for not using search facility but doing this on a tablet that won't allow me to.

As in the title. How much woul it cost to Polestar a new V90 R Design and what would the benefits be?

I doubt the dealer would 'give' it to me but knowledge would put me in a better negotiating position.

In another thread just below yours, a member of the forum has informed us, that at the moment there is a big discount for Polestar optimisation at Caffyns Volvo. The price is £495 reduced from the normal price everywhere of £745.
Regarding the benefits you can open the Polestar website and see what is changed and in what way.

Just had it fitted and it certainly is an improvement but I still find the autobox has a lag. When you slow at a roundabout and then see a gap and accelerate it still hesitates. I have always had manual cars so am probably spoiled but I do find it annoying. Want to drive a BMW X3 to compare.

It's true...it's like it doesn't know what to do... it seems it enters in panic...:

what do i do... he is slowing down...should i reduce...what if...better not...ooh wait wait... maybe yes maybe not... ooh god... Help me... HELP ME OUT... WHAT DO I DO...WHAT!??

for those who didn't understand it was a moment of panic and indecision from The Geartronic sharing her thoughts with us! ****... she is dumb!

Anyone with a 2018 XC60 D4 had the Polestar upgrade and would they recommend it?

Thanks

Steve

I've got Polestar on my S90 D5 and had it on my V40 D4. Well worth it in my opinion. Turbo lag still apparent on D4, my D5 has powerpulse, so little lag problem there. To avoid all lag go electric!

I'm thinking of getting this too - especially as there's a good price kicking around.... more haggle space with local dealer - although I'd be happy to make a 300 mile round trip for it with that saving!!
But I was hoping to read that the Geartronic "panic" mentioned by VOLVOLOVER would disappear.
Its my first auto in about 25 years and its exactly how VOLVOLOVER describes.
I've started changing drive mode to Dynamic as I approach junctions/roundabouts that I know I may need that extra Ooomph to get out of.

Is it really worth the £500+ price tag?

Is it worth it?

Had it on the car for a few days now. Well its like dynamic plus, it certainly goes well in Polestar mode when you floor it. Gearbox is more repsonsive, but and this is the biggy for me, it still fails to pull away quicky when you come off throttle and then re-apply it, it still takes an extrordinary length of time to decide what it wants to do beautifully described by volvolover:

what do i do... he is slowing down...should i reduce...what if...better not...ooh wait wait... maybe yes maybe not... ooh god... Help me... HELP ME OUT... WHAT DO I DO...WHAT!??

Surely this can be configured out? Its like the accelerator is not connected to anything, strange. I really think it is a good car apart from this and it does spoil it somewhat.

its turbo lag, but might be worth mentioning to your dealer for some software change to improve.
