Cost of Polestar (and benefits)

Its most definately not turbo lag.

Whatever the cause I suffer it on my present car. V90 D4. I've raised it several times with the dealer and they say there's no issue. All I know is that on occasion it's bordering on the dangerous.
On the subject of Polestar where is Caffyns?. When I spoke with the dealer yesterday they quoted £745 and wouldn't move.

Quite true 👍. It has never worth £745 for what is offering!
Better go for Rica with iSofloader (you can tune the car yourself and bring it back to standard at any time) for around £600 and you'll see much bigger difference than Polestar. I know many worry about the warranty, but never heard anything bad happened with Rica software installed.

Assuming it’s a diesel, and a late one with Adblue they can’t tune it - nobody (other than Polestar) can.

I suspect the Polestar tune is just a reduction of the torque limits anyway. Explains the low gains and people saying their gearbox is more responsive.

I’ve yet to see any credible dyno testing on the same day at the same dyno..
My D4 made very nearly 200bhp on a so called ‘heart breaker’ Dyno Dynamics rolling road (apparently the only accurate ones)

Shocked Volvo offer this, no one else does.

Yes you are right, they are in a development stage for the models from MY18 onwards .

Every tuner has ‘had this in development’ for at least the last year. I’m not holding my breath..

Maybe it could worth if anyone has D5 engine in a car MY20. They offer quite big difference with overboost for 20 sec.
