Question I can get size of original bolts if you want

Dear Sport wag,
I fitted running boards to mine and have the original bolts I removed.
I will measure them for you later if you wish.
Unfortunately I can’t let them go at the moment as I will be selling my XC90 after lockdown and do t know yet if the running boards will be sold separately so I may need them.

Be more specific LJ

By "them" do you mean the original bolts, the new longer bolts or the running boards with (or without) bolts??

I have a set of originals somewhere I can measure but I think I've seen this subject discussed on the forum before - do a search on side steps/running boards and you may find what you need.

Here you go

Cheers

Default Bolt sizes

Hi
The bolts (without side steps) are all the same length, 35mm, thread length, 45mm overall and are fitted with a thick washer.
There are 4 x M10 and 4 x M12
Photos attached, this is based on a 2006 model.
Hope this helps. (Sorry not selling them yet as I may sell side steps separately and refit them.)

Here's another link which has the length of the bolts required for fitting the side steps which is, I believe, what LJ is looking for.

https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...ide+step+bolts

4xM10x90mm long & 4xM12x110mm long

Cheers

Dave

Hi I will measure what I have tomorrow, I got an original pair refurbed and have the original mounting bolts, it’s the bolts that put the actual boards together I have lost 🤦🏻*♂️

They're just M8 bolts and washers. (Qty. 8 - obv.)

I'd be inclined to go and get some from a local hardware supplier rather than a dealer.

Not sure of length but, as they are going into the hollow section, as long as they're long enough, it's not critical.

Default Running Boards

Hello people.

I have a set of running boards complete with long bolts for sale.
Original Volvo parts that I have taken off my 2004 XC90 SE.

They are on ebay if anybody is interested with part numbers for both sides.

They do need refurbishing but only for aesthetic reasons. I took them off to have them re-coated but decided that I liked the look of my car without them.

Best wishes.
