Default New Tyre time...

Looks like I'll be going down the Nokian route, after getting a 4 wheel alignment check/setup done in the next couple of weeks....

2 questions:

Best place (Merseyside area) to have a 4 wheel alignment test/adjustment done - and how much should the full thing cost, incl adjustment (suspect it will be needed as rear 2 tyres have worn on outer edges quicker than any others on the car)

Which Nokians? NRVi Sport Utility or WR Sport Utility - std size 235/60 R18

Looking for best life/performance ratio

Any suggestions?

Mike

the only advice i can give you is i had a range rover with good year wranglers on it, they were superb but im going back to '92 so other tyre companies have probably got tyres which are just as good!

Personally I'd choose the Nokian WR sport utility 235/60 R18 107V XL I've found winter tyres to be great all year round. Deeper tread as well. They're
£113 each now I see.

My Vredstiens aren't showing any wear yet and the wet weather grip is fantastic. The XC90 went up a 45 degree mud and grass slope without batting an eyelid the other day. More expensive than the Nokian's though.

I take that back about the Vredstien's being more expensive, they are the same price as the Nokian WR now. See.....

About the test results. Remember the Nokians were tested on the Volvo eco tyre pressure settings. The Allroad seemed to have wear problem but did he checjk his alignment? I haven't seen any measurable wear on my Vredsiens yet but I've only done 5,000 miles on them. On all the other areas I'll be giving them maximum scores, but I won't post until I have full wear results.
