So.... Still trying to find this issue. Noticed air bubbles in the fuel line...... You see them go whizzing by in the fuel line.... There's not supposed to be air in the fuel? I'm used to working with mechanical pumps. No very good with Common Rail..... Could this be the issue?

I had a similar issue on a 1.9dci Renault. You would set off and the car was flat out at about 5mph. Switching off and waiting 'solved' it but it came back. The garage said it was to do with the turbo, although in the end it was something to do with fuel pressure not being correct and the way the fuel was (or rather not) being injected.

This problems only when the engines hot. Volvo will investigate for £90..... I'll get the bloke who sold it to me to sort it. The car cracks up a treat and runs fine. It's only when you shut it down when the engines hot that the issue manifests itself. Leave the car for 10 mins and it starts up again no issues. I get no throttle response and smoking while it's doing it.

With the Renault it was when it had been driven, and left for a short while,eg when stopping, nipping into a shop for ten minutes etc, so still hot.

Cant you get someone you know to read the codes?

Have had a look as I have the job sheet for mine from years ago somewhere, but can't find it.I do remember that the issue was all about fuel pressure, pumps, injectors and sensors. I also remember the garage wanted to charge me for the work, blaming it on fuel contamination, but thats another discussion...!!!!!

If you google '1.9dci Renault no revs' or '1.9dci won't start' or '1.9dci common rail issue' there are loads of explanations, which are familiar to me.

It is a bugger that you have this fault, as you have only just got it.

Hope you get sorted.

Irked.com but it happens. As long as he holds up his half, all will be good.

This makes it sound like the EGR valve sticking.
